This blog will explain in detail how to make a payment with BTCPay on ModelDezign. If you are new to paying with cryptocurrencies you will need a wallet to make a payment, these can be software app wallets like Coinomi or hardware wallet like Trezor.
Please follow the steps to guide you through this process.
Select Crypto Currency types
On the BTCPay checkout page there are 2 types of cryptocurrencies you can choose from.
To switch currencies you click on the Bitcoin icon, a pop-up will appear with the option to select Litecoin.
Please select one to continue.
Preview Payment Amount
The total amount is represented in the cryptocurrency you have chosen, BTC (Bitcoin) or LTC (Litecoin). Just under that is the latest conversion rate into US Dollars that is used to convert the price of your item into cryptocurrency. The checkout page lasts 15 minutes (indicated by the green timer above) to be sure the current conversion rate is always up to date and refreshed. If the timer runs out please go back to ModelDezign and press the checkout button again.
How To Pay
To explain the process of sending funds we will be demonstrating with 2 different wallets. The first wallet is Coinomi, their mobile app can be downloaded here. The second wallet is Trezor, this is the most secure way of storing and sending cryptocurrency, their hardware wallet can be purchased here.
Please understand with all these methods, before you press send on your wallet it is very important is to always double-check the receive address and the crypto amount on your wallet is the same as what is displayed in the ‘Copy’ tab of the checkout page.
How To Pay With Coinomi Mobile Wallet
Select a Currency
Once you setup the Coinomi mobile wallet app click on the currency you selected on the BTCPay payment page.
Open QR Scanner
Once you click on your currency that you want to be pay with, press the Send button that can be found at the top of the page.
Then select the scanner icon highlighted on the image, this will open your camera to scan the QR code on the BTCPay payment page.
Scan The QR Code
Once the camera is opened, position your device in front of the QR code, it should eventually be detected by the app.
Prepare The Payment
After you have scanned the QR code you will then be taken to the send page with the receive address and payment amount automatically filled out for you.
To continue making the transfer you would need to press the Continue button.
Choose Fees and Send
Before you can send the payment you will be asked to select the priority fees. This fee will determine how fast the payment goes through, the higher the fees the quicker the payment.
After you select the priority level, press confirm, shortly after BTCPay will pickup the payment and you will be notified of this on the payment page.
Paying With Trezor Hardware Wallet
Select a Currency
Once you setup the Trezor device on the dashboard interface click on the top right to select the cryptocurrency you chose on the BTCPay checkout page. It is important you have the same cryptocurrency otherwise the payment will not work.
Go To Send Page
With the correct cryptocurrency has been selected go to the Send tab highlighted at the top, this will reveal payment options below we will be using to enter our details.
Copy Over Payment Information
In the copy tab on the BTCPay checkout page you will see an AMOUNT and ADDRESS. Now go to the Trezor interface and paste the AMOUNT into AMOUNT and ADDRESS into ADDRESS. You should see a green tick letting you know you have done this step correctly, also as a good practice double check all the inputs are correct.
Choose Fees and Send
Next you must choose a transaction fee, we recommend selecting ‘High’ for a faster processing speed to give you access to your product in less time. Finally once you have doubled check the address and the amount press send and confirm the payment on your device!
You just paid in Crypto!
